Lessons Learned from One Year of Podcasting

“Having a podcast is an opportunity to give to someone first by introducing them to your audience.”

- Janelle Lara

Podcasting is the future of business, and every business needs to invest in an audio strategy.

Podcasting lets you share your experiences and stories as well as those of your clients. You can bring in experts and get immediate feedback from my audience.

“If I could only do one thing all day long, it would be recording and producing episodes of this podcast.” - Janelle Lara (2:10-2:19)

A podcast puts your voice right inside someone's ears for an extended period of time, allowing people to truly get to know you.

Having a podcast gets your foot in the door to create new opportunities with others. It allows you to reach out to someone and invite them to be on your podcast. They become excited about the opportunity to talk to you.

Podcasting makes it easy to create content your audience can binge on. This helps them get the information they need to buy from you, especially when they're actively searching for the services or products you offer.

The podcasting market is wide open. In the U.S. alone, 150 million people listen to podcasts on a monthly basis while 103 million people listen to podcasts each week.

“Start thinking about how you can create consistent content without having to always be present in order for it to reach your audience.”  - Janelle Lara (14:28-14:39)

With only 300,000 podcasts actively being updated, there’s plenty of room for growth in the podcast market.

Consistency is key when it comes to podcasting. But that doesn’t mean you have to be constantly working to share new content. You can build a team that does all the heavy lifting for you.

You can use podcasting to help your audience get to know, like, and trust you. You can give them information that helps them decide to purchase from you.

More importantly, you can develop content that you can use to generate more visibility for your business while connecting on a deeper level with your audience.
