How to Have a CEO Day

Have you ever heard the popular idiom, “the cobbler's son has no shoes?”

Basically, it makes a joke out of the fact that most business owners don’t actually take as good care of themselves and their families as they do their clients, particularly in the area within which they are an expert.

I know I’ve said it before, and it’s thrown around quite often as a joke in business circles.

But have you ever actually thought about what it means?

Like, imagine, your father makes shoes for a living.

MAKES THEM. EVERYDAY.

And you…. have no shoes?

😥

Wouldn’t we call that neglect these days? Isn’t it a sad thought? It's not *that* cute of an idiom when you really sit down to think about it.

Other similar examples include… (just throwing these out there… 😉)

—> the social media manager has no social media presence

—> the health coach is overworked and undernourished

—> the marketing consultant has no marketing plan to speak of

—> the business coach has no business strategy in place

... Am I getting close to home…? Too close? 😂😂😂

I totally get it, and I’ve been there.

^That, is what happens when CEOs get lost in fulfillment, and they don’t give their businesses time as a CEO to strategize, plan, and delegate as needed.

(Because #letsbehonest…. You’re not doing all that shtuff yourself.)

But here’s the thing, while it may be a funny quip to share with your biz bestie (“LOL I literally cannot remember the last time I made a social media post for my own business- the cobbler's son has no shoes!”)

But it actually is a symptom of a huge problem.

Not having an implementable strategy in your business is more obvious than you think it is, and it reduces your credibility within the marketplace.
