Breaking the $100k Barrier Mindset with Samantha Hartley
“You teach people how to treat you. The default is not always going to be good, and you need to express yourself when it’s not.” - Janelle Lara
Some of the most valuable, peaceful people on the planet are those who dedicate themselves to uplifting others, helping them improve, and helping them reach their goals. Samantha Hartley of Enlightened Marketing is a prime example. Samantha works primarily with female consultants who are under-earning relative to their potential and cannot see a path forward to reaching that potential. She puts an emphasis on transformational work through high-ticket offers that allow her clients to pour themselves fully into a few projects while reducing financial stress.
”A lot of what I’m doing is to put people in a joyful state. And I don’t think that you can be joyful when you have money fear and stress. So the way to get rid of that is to structure your business to alleviate that money fear and stress. Once you’re in that state, you can feel your genius. ” - Samantha Hartley
There is an invisible barrier that exists at $100,000 per year, specifically for women. Often, women suppress their power, preferring to be humble, and this can lead to them undervaluing themselves financially. Women’s business groups tend to nurture more than they challenge, whereas Samantha works with her clients to realize the value they provide and empower them that way.
She’s the perfect person to do it. A Southerner with a colorful background, including degrees in Theatre and Russian Language, Samantha made her way in the world, geographically and through the Coca-Cola Company, with confidence and the constant rhetoric of “I can do that,” no matter the job at hand. Having worked in a corporate environment and seen the differences among office life, fieldwork, and self-employment, Samantha knows that there are no “new” marketing tactics. Everything is a reinvention of standard, lasting principles:

It is important for women to talk about what it means to be a woman with good ideas and contribution, and how often female voices get buried or women doubt the value of their opinions and ideas. Samantha has a go-to formula for when clients are in need: Call out your client specifically and address their problem or pain points with specific language. For Samantha, this means, ‘Female consultants who are under-earning relative to their potential and are already working too hard, but would like to grow and don’t see how they can.’
