How Megan Closed More in One Month Than She Did All Last Year

“If you can't think of the number of times you've failed miserably or risked everything, then you probably aren't taking enough action.”
Megan

Megan generated more revenue than she grossed in 2018 after just two months of coaching. She’s the founder and CEO of Powerhouse Pageantry, a company she started after making her way to being a Miss Nebraska competitor in the Miss America organization, winning the title on her first try at just 20 years of age. She’s a pageant interview expert who understands how entrepreneurship, confidence, and empowerment are the driving forces that help you win in all that you do.

“A coach takes you farther along than you’d go by yourself while speeding up the process. There doesn't have to be as much pain, sorrow, scraping your knees, and getting back up.”

- Megan (11:31-11:45)

As a coach, Megan knows the importance of having her own coach. Our world is constantly changing, it’s impossible to know everything all the time. Working with a coach can give you the knowledge, skills, and resources you need to adapt to the changing world. It’s easy to get swept away when you face difficult trials in life. Coaching gives you an outside perspective to stay centered on the path towards your goals. Megan didn’t want to feel alone in her journey anymore. She didn’t want to feel like she had to do it all by herself. She’d burned a few times by investing in and being disappointed by other coaching programs. So she wanted to make sure she got what she was looking for in our coaching work together.

Creating a Community Around You

Women don’t always have models of success around them to serve as examples for their own goals. It’s not just about breaking the glass ceiling as women, we also need to surround ourselves with others who’ve paved the way before us. We can get the mentors we need to understand us and guide us in the right direction. Being around people who work harder or make more money can be motivating and inspiring. Building the right community around yourself is one of the most important ways to reach a new level of growth. We thrive when we’re part of a community full of people who give us a different perspective and helps us achieve our dreams.

“Massive imperfect action is so important in business. It’s what shows that you really want it.” - Janelle Lara (12:11-12:31)

The coaching relationship is a partnership, and you have to establish trust within that partnership. Sometimes your coach has to be a therapist, and sometimes they need to just let you vent. Having an objective resource who can offer the tools you need is a critical part of the growth process. Your coach is equally invested in your success and wants to see you win.

Coaching gives you the courage to get back up every time you fall. It’s the real validation that comes from investing in yourself and being in integrity so that others can invest in you.
