EP9: The 4 Types of Productivity with Pamela Lewerenz
“Productivity is not just doing things just to get them done. It is about doing the right things at the right time so that you can achieve maximum efficiency for the effort that you’re putting in.” - Pamela
When we think of productivity, often we think of getting the most work done in the least amount of time, at times attempting to blaze through to-do lists at the expense of our sanity. This week on The Part-Time CEO, Pamela Lewerenz shares how we can leverage our unique traits to be more successful. Pamela, known as the “Brick Wall Coach,” is a business coach whose mission is to coach ambitious entrepreneurs to run successful and sustainable businesses. She has been in the coaching business since 2014 and has worked with coaches, consultants, professionals in the financial services field, the arts, healthcare professionals, entertainers, and politicians.
”A lot of times we set up our lives in a way that is directly contradictory to our productivity type.” - Janelle
There are Four Traits of Productivity. While most of us can identify with some of each trait, you’ll probably identify most strongly with one. To get the most accurate idea of your productivity type, you’ll want to look not only at the present in your business, but how you run your life in general, and the tendencies of your family of origin. These traits include the Prioritizer, the Planner, the Arranger, and the Visualizer. Which one do you think you are?
“Everybody has the same 24 hours, but you want to make sure you’re working to peak efficiency and not focusing on the tasks you’re not really in love with, or you know other people can handle for you so you can… do those things you have to do.” - Pamela
You are unique in how you run your business. Being productive is not just getting through a to-do list, but being mindful in the balance of work and rest. A lot of times it’s really easy to get lost in the wave of stuff we are inundated with each day. Listen in to this episode to learn more about yourself, the pitfalls in productivity that are common to individuals who identify with your Type, and how you can optimize the hours in your day.
