The Patterns You Need to Break to be Successful

“Everything that you do in your life either brings you closer to accomplishing your mission or not. Those who recognize this understand that failure cannot be an option.”
Janelle Lara

How to reverse engineer the lies you tell yourself.

Are you aware that the worst enemy you will ever face on the path of entrepreneurship… is you?

Self-sabotage is a parasite that has plagued the human race since the beginning times. We hesitate when we should seize. Hide when we should reveal. Doubt when we should believe. As a result, dreams and goals are brushed away. However, there is a way to break through and reach success.

Shift your mindset to set yourself free!

“The first thing you need to do is change your mentality from wanting to be safe and trying to remain risk-averse… to being worthy of the competition.” - Janelle Lara (16:09 - 16:23)

Are you ready to break the self-destructive patterns that hold you back?

First, stop telling yourself two of the greatest lies.

  1. “I should never do anything that will jeopardize my overall security.” False on two counts! One, taking risks is actually the bread and butter of being an entrepreneur. It’s vital to your growth. Two, security doesn’t really exist. That is, unless you are the best. Let’s imagine the bull market has already crashed. If you want to not only survive but thrive, then you absolutely need to perform within the top 30% of your industry. Develop your skills now to be worthy of the competition. That way when the bottom 70% leaves the market, your success will attract additional clients in desperate need of services.

  2. “My business is a democracy.” False! Your dreams are not up to a group vote. You need to quickly make your own decisions in order to be an effective CEO. That’s the key difference between amateurs and professionals. Amateurs agonize over decisions, constantly going back and forth. Professionals recognize the law of averages. The more you try, the more you will succeed. Trust yourself even before you develop a solid track record. Get aligned with your true purpose and keep that at the forefront of your mind.

Second, start implementing productive patterns for success.

  1. Forget the low-maintenance concept. If you have an Olympic-sized dream, then you need to treat yourself like an Olympian. That means the works. Accept that you are high maintenance because you are a high achiever. Bask in self-care so you can serve others at your highest capacity.

  2. Decide to be YOUR best. Not everyone is meant for world-renowned awards and accomplishments. However, everyone is meant to give back. Choose to discover and fulfill the purpose you were created for.

  3. Find your team. If the dream is Olympic sized, then you need a team to rally. You need support to make this happen. Remember the investment, big or small, is worth it when you consider the potential impact.

  4. Be decisive. Deep down you know what you need to do. Whether it’s the removal from a toxic relationship, the reduction of monthly expenses to invest, or time-off, just do it. Take a step in the right direction today!

“Do not waste your talent and ability by settling for mediocrity.”

- Janelle Lara (25:08 - 25:14)
